Coriander is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. The leaves are mainly referred to as coriander leaves, fresh coriander, Chinese parsley or Cilantro.

  • All parts of the plant are edible, but the fresh leaves and the dried seeds are mostly used in cooking. The leaves are often used raw or added to the dish immediately before serving, while the seeds are mainly used as a base flavouring of sauces or pastes as roasting or heating the seeds in a dry pan heightens the flavour, aroma, and pungency.
