Dill is a large annual herb ferny foliage that is topped with sprays of yellow flower when it blooms in the summer months. It is part of the celery family Apiaceae. Dill is widely grown in Asia, where its leaves and seeds are used as a herb or spice for flavouring food.

  • You would mainly find dried dill sold in the spice section of your local supermarket, but the flavour is somewhat lacking and is a poorer substitute for fresh dill alternative.
